Get to Know Jiu Jitsu!
This week, Surge Sports News had the pleasure of interviewing Tyler Nasadyk, a current blue belt in self-defence martial arts and combat sport Jiu Jitsu. Tyler shares his personal journey of discovering Jiu Jitsu and the impact it has had on his life. After experiencing bullying in the past, Tyler was recommended by his boss to attend a Jiu Jitsu class, and from there, he immediately fell in love with the sport. Currently, Tyler trains at Boa Martial Arts under an ex-professional fighter with several belts. During the interview, Tyler discusses his beliefs and knowledge about Jiu Jitsu. He elaborates on the belt system and levels of the sport. Tyler emphasizes how size and strength do not determine the skill of a fighter, and how hard work and training are the key to success in Jiu Jitsu. He also mentioned how Jiu Jitsu differs from other sports as it is a mental sport as well. Tyler shared insight on well-known Jiu Jitsu competition around the world, and gave us a glimpse into his weekly training schedule. He also spoke about the benefits of Jiu Jitsu, such as confidence and knowing how to handle confrontations. On behalf of Surge Sports News, we would like to wish Tyler luck in his upcoming competitions in the summer and thank him for taking some time out of his training schedule to chat with us.
